Grant Application Process
Grants will ONLY be considered for projects in Oregon that fall within the Foundation’s “Areas of Interest” (see Home Page). Requests for capital expenses or contributions to capital campaigns will not be considered.
First time applicants should follow the Grant Application Process as outlined below. Applicants who have received funding in the past should follow instructions outlined in Section III below.
I. LETTER OF INQUIRY (LOI)
First time applicants or those who have NOT been funded in the past must submit an LOI to the Foundation’s Executive Director by January 1st for the April 1st grant deadline or July 1st for the October 1st grant deadline.
The LOI (no more than two pages in font size 12) must include the following information:
1. Name, title and email address of your principal contact
2. The Foundation’s area of interest that will apply to your project/program
3. A description of the project/program for which support is being requested
4. How your organization impacts your community/constituency
5. A brief project/program budget including the amount being requested
6. The anticipated outcomes of the project/program
II. SITE VISIT
Following a review of your LOI, the Foundation’s Executive Director will notify you whether the Foundation will consider your application and, if so, give you information about scheduling a site visit. It is expected that both the principal contact and at least one board member from your organization will be involved in the site visit.
Following the site visit you will receive notification from the Foundation’s Executive Director as to whether you should submit a grant application.
