SVPP Executive Director Honored by Portland Business Journal

February 19, 2010 - Social Venture Partners Portland congratulates our Executive Director, Mark Holloway, for being named as one of Portland’s “Forty Under 40″ by the Portland Business Journal. Mark was selected for the list from over 250 nominations based on outstanding achievement in the business journal’s three criteria: professional accomplishment, community involvement and professional recognition.

Mark has led SVP Portland for three years, having moved to Portland shortly prior from New York City where he was the Corporate Relations Manager for the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. In his time at SVPP, he has recruited more than 45 new Partners to SVPP and engaged them in our venture philanthropy model. He has also presided over more than $300,000 of investment in the local nonprofit community and helped catalyze contributions of additional money, time and expertise to SVPP’s Investee organizations.

Mark was also recently invited to join the Board of Directors of Grantmakers of Oregon and SW Washington, a foundation membership organization. He also serves as Treasurer of Third Rail Repertory Theatre and as a SMART reader at Sabin Elementary in Northeast Portland. Mark joins other SVPP Partners Dina Alexander, Merritt Paulson, Mark Adams, Peter Lizotte who have also been honored in past Forty Under 40 listings.
