J.W. & H.M. Goodman Foundation - 2009 Spring Grants

The J.W. & H.M. Goodman Foundation seeks to express its loyalty and commitment to those individuals and organizations that had a positive impact on the lives of the Grantors and to explore and support important and necessary programs that improve the quality of life.

This grant cycle was focused on two areas:  1)  Arts & Culture - Music Programs, and 2)  Education - Programs or organizations that help students become first in their family to graduate from high school and go onto trade school or college.

2009 Spring Grants Awarded (Arts & Culture, Education)
Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula, Menlo Park, CA. College Bound program. $5,000.
College Track, Oakland, CA. General operating support. $5,000.
Community School of Music and Arts, Mountain View, CA. Music in Action program. $5,000.
First Graduate, San Francisco, CA. Salary support for case management programs. $5,000.
Friends of the Children, Portland, OR. Camp Friends program. $3,000.
Girls Inc., San Leandro, CA. Eureka Teen Achievement program. $5,000.
Pickleberry Pie, Inc., Santa Cruz, CA. Music concerts at local Portland hospitals. $5,000.
Open Meadow, Portland, OR. Support for post-secondary advancement advocate. $5,000.
Portland Festival Symphony, Portland, OR. 29th summer concert series. $5,000.
Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, Portland, OR. TBA festival music program. $2,500.
The Portland Ballet, Portland, OR. La Boutique Fantasque live music production. $5,000.
Women’s Audio Mission, San Francisco, CA. Girls on the Mic program. $5,000.

Their Fall grant cycle is underway and we are focused on two areas:  1)  Environment - Global Warming and Marine Systems, and 2)  Health & Human Services - Food and Shelter.
