GOAL: MEMBER BENEFIT
STRATEGY - INCREASING PROGRAM ACCESSIBILITY
Guided by the organization’s 2009-2011 strategic goals GRANTMAKERS of Oregon and Southwest Washington’s Program Committee is crafting the 2009 calendar with the goal of increasing program and service accessibility for all members. The board, program committee and staff have started to implement some basic strategies. Some of the current and ongoing strategies include:
“On Location” Programming
On Location Programs are Third Thursday programs that originate from outside of the Portland metro area and focus on a regionally relevant topic featuring, but not limited to, local speakers. They will be broadcast back to a gathering of funders in the Portland metro area by videoconference in order to encourage collaborative discussion and build connections.
Audio-conferencing & the Audio Recordings Library
With the help of Northwest Health Foundation, GRANTMAKERS of Oregon and Southwest Washington will be able to facilitate live audio conferencing of Third Thursday, and other programs, when appropriate. Programs are also being recorded and made available via the website for download or desktop listening. To explore previously recorded programs through January 2009 please see below.
Access the Audio Recordings Library at: http://www.gosw.org/grant/makers/info/audio_recordings/
Increased Visibility
We are dedicated to increasing the visibility of programs and activities outside the Portland metro. They will be highlighted in the print and email newsletters. Additionally, we will be actively encouraging attendance by statewide funders, including targeted outreach and group transportation for interested members.
We are on the steep end of the learning curve in terms of both technology and effective outreach - we need your feedback, ideas, patience and partnership. Please contact staff by phone or email:
